Kind Words

Highly recommend Lisa with Rogue Valley Pet Nanny! She watches my two high energy miniature poodles who can be a handful at times. She is great with scheduling and keeping me updated during her stay with photos and texts. She is very kind and loving to the dogs. I’m super picky about who I leave my pups with and I trust her 100%! She’s very respectful of my space and leaves the house spotless. Her prices are fair and totally worth it! 10/10 recommend Lisa and will continue to hire her for my pet sitting needs. Thank you!” - Kaya

“My animals all adore Lisa! Even my shyest cat (who hides from almost everyone) came out and made friends with her within 5 minutes of her initial arrival. Lisa is responsible, conscientious, and follows directions, and I felt extremely comfortable leaving our little family of animals, and our house, in her care while we were gone. We would definitely recommend her as a pet sitter!” - Linda

“Lisa is a wonderful pet sitter. She takes excellent care of our "Special Needs" dog with epilepsy. She pays attention to detail which is how she knew when our dog had a seizure in her care. She was able to follow the Seizure protocol instructions and effectively communicate with us his condition and all turned out fine. We enjoy her daily updates and photos she shares with us during her dog sitting. She treats our dog as if it were her own and our dog adores her and that means everything to us. I find Lisa to be trustworthy and very reliable. She is a person who enjoys all animals and I do highly recommended her services.” - Carol

“Lisa is a wonderful house and pet sitter. She stayed at my home and took care of my elderly pitbull and sassy kitty for 2 weeks. She provided updates and pictures, dealt with administering medications, daily walks, and taking care of everyone. When I got home, my house was cleaner than when I left it and both my girls were in excellent shape! I highly recommend her.”- Danna

“Lisa has taken care of our two dogs a number of times when we have gone on trips. She has stayed at our house so that our dogs are in their familiar surroundings. Our dogs were very comfortable being with her and they were well taken care of. One of our dogs, Sadie, needs daily medication and she had no problem administering it. She was very loving towards our dogs. My husband and I had no worries at all being away from them. Lisa was a terrific pet sitter and we highly recommend her to take care of your pets.”- Karen & Gabe

A note from Rogue Valley Pet Nanny:

As a professional pet sitter, I take my responsibility to care for your pets very seriously.

One of the lesser-known responsibilities of a professional pet sitter is to research topics that will benefit your pet(s) and the way that they are cared for.

My latest topic of interest is Disaster Preparedness for Pets (also called Disaster Pet Preparedness).

An experience I had deploying with the American Red Cross this fall (2024) made me want to study Disaster Pet Preparedness. I didn’t quite make the connection between my interest in caring for pets and volunteering for the American Red Cross until this unfortunate event occurred.

Flooding wasn’t exactly something on the radar to happen in Roswell, New Mexico. In fact, it was the first time it had happened in a century. When I spoke with the locals, it was 11 days later and they were still in disbelief.

During our mission I couldn’t help but notice some pets wandering the streets. My mind went back to the clients we served… were they missing their beloved pet? It all happened so fast.

When I came back home to Oregon I knew that I needed to figure out what the process was for when disasters occur on a bigger scale - what is our responsibility as pet owners and what are our rights for assistance during times of natural disasters?….

I’m taking a FEMA course now to learn what we, as pet owners and pet care providers, can do to take action- not just preparing for it, but what to do during and after a disaster.

P.S.

Keep an eye out for my new blog coming in early 2025 where I’ll share articles and my own research on this frightening yet necessary topic.
